Unveiling Your Inner Treasure

Written by Katherine Dreyer, Co-Founder of ChiRunning & ChiWalking
Founder of ChiLife Coaching

If life were a treasure hunt, what would be the treasure you are searching for?

Only you can decide what is truly of value to you; what really matters. Only you can ultimately know what rings with the clarity of truth.

And yet we constantly feel pulled in so many directions. There is so much information “out there” about what is important: family, friends, community, being of service, taking care of yourself, having a successful career.

There is no way you can do all of those things at the same time and do them all well. So how do you choose? How do you know where to focus your attention?

No one can do it for you. Only you can follow the internal clues your body is giving you.

My goal is to guide you to the source of those answers, but only you can hear the secret messages and decipher the code of your body’s language.

Surprise is almost always the response my clients have when they learn to really listen to themselves. “I had no idea.” Or, “Wow, that is not what I expected.” And, they feel the authenticity of what they learn.

These surprises are the treasure we seek. They lead us to understanding, then resolution, then action. This is action that comes not from unhealthy pressure, but from our truest desires.

I can guide you to your own deep presence, help you cultivate self-compassion, and remind you how to welcome and listen to the many competing voices, but only you can know what resonates for you. Only you know when you experience a whole-hearted “YES!”

And when you do, it is powerful and integrious. Nothing can stop that kind of conviction.

In most ways we are interdependent. We need clean water, air, and food to thrive. As mammals, we will die if we’re not cared for by other mammals. We need each other and we need the natural world.

But when trying to discern what is most important at any moment, clarity will come when you turn toward your personal ecosystem, your own body, energy, and being.

Joseph Campbell said, “The cave you fear to enter holds the treasure you seek.”

The question is, how much do you want that treasure?

ChiLife Coaching adapts the principles use in ChiRunning and ChiWalking to bring positive change to your whole life.
