I met Esther Gokhale in 2018 when I was teaching at the Kripalu Yoga Center. When I learned what the Gokhale Method was all about, I realized there is a deep connection between what she is teaching her students and what we teach in ChiWalking and ChiRunning.
We decided to do a video together talking about one aspect of posture in daily life that affects us all: sitting. In our talk, we show how sitting is responsible for many of the ills that show up in our bodies as we age.
We also both firmly believe that these can be prevented and reversed when we pay attention to our posture– when sitting as well as when we’re moving around in our daily lives. The importance of posture cannot be overstated because the quality of almost every action we do is dependent on a combination of the proper alignment and balanced movement of our body.
