Master Instructor, Hazel Wood, has been teaching since 2004 and will be sharing her deep knowledge and experience to help you run with greater ease, energy and avoid injury. Learn how efficient running technique affords less stress on your body and requires less effort. Hazel will be guiding you through many exercises and drills designed to leave you with a clear sense of what the Chi Running technique feels like in your body. We will not be doing lots of running (contrary to what you might imagine), so no matter what condition you are in, have no fear. We will spend time alternating between demonstrations, fun exercises and technique drills … the nature of the day will be relaxed, full and inspiring.

This class is for anyone – beginners who want to start off “right”, seasoned runners who want to increase distance or speed, triathletes looking to improve the run portion, or if you’re just tired of being injured. The class will be either on the indoor track at Las Positas College or outdoors depending on weather temperature. Parking and meeting location details will be emailed to you.

What you will learn includes:

• How to develop and practice good posture all day long
• How to move from your center (dantien) as in T’ai Chi
• How to avoid common form-related running injuries
• How to save energy and reduce dependence on leg strength
• How to make efficient use of upper body and arms
• How to use cadence to increase efficiency and reduce effort
• How to use gears for efficient stride length and speed
• How to relax and conserve energy at any speed

Bonus – Reference materials will be emailed post event.
