I just wanted to let you know what a difference your ChiRunning book has made in my running. I’m 47, and it has been a goal of mine to break the 3 hour marathon barrier for a number of years. Up to this point, my best marathon time was a 3:01:50 in Big Sur 2002 (yes, please tell Danny I must have been near him most of that race…in fact I was probably only one place ahead of him). Anyways, I read the book and practiced my form focuses for a few months before entering a race. I decided on the San Francisco marathon because it would allow me to put into practice all that i learned (both the uphill form and downhill).
Well, I did it! I crashed through that 3 hour barrier with a 2:53:15. Not only was I able to train harder without injury but, using the techniques taught in the book, I was able to push out the fatigue until much later in the race than what I am normally used to.
Thank you so much for the insightful approach to running. It truly has made a difference in my life.
