I knew in 2009 after attending my first ChiRunning workshop that ChiRunning/ChiWalking was going to be part of my life. I became a certified ChiRunning instructor in 2010. From that time until 2017 I focused on ChiRunning clinics. Work and life happened so no more clinics but I never stopped my ChiRunning practice. I then re-certified as a ChiWalking instructor in 2025. My main interest in ChiWalking is applying the techniques on and off trails in the mountains. This naturally includes a lot of moderate and steep hills, which ChilWalking and ChiRunning makes easier and more efficient. The feedback from the Colorado Mountain Club participants who have taken this clinic indicate the ChiWalking techniques have been very helpful for improving hiking form, performance and endurance. This has been my experience also.
ChiWalking has direct application for improving walking/hiking form, performance and endurance on trails and in the mountains. Just 30 minutes of brisk daily walking in your neighborhood or local park (doesn’t need to be hiking on trails) can reduce the risk of chronic diseases, manage weight, ease joint pain, and significantly boost your mood and cognitive function. ChiWalking gives you a way to comfortably improve walking form for health and fitness.
Whether you plan to walk or hike on hills and trails in the mountains or around your neighborhood and local parks, ChiWalking can help you move with ease, comfort and enjoyment.
